explore the Tarkine

Tarkinegrove is situated on the South Arthur River Touring Route, C218 at Roger River making it the perfect base to explore this stunning, special, wilderness area.
To begin to experience The Tarkine Drive requires at least two days.
1: The Rainforest Drive with a number of short walks to fully immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty and diversity of plant and animal life. This drive is a simple loop around the C218 by turning left after crossing the Kanunnah Bridge just 12 minutes from Tarkinegrove. Returning by a left turn after descending the hill from Trowutta into to Roger River Road 2 minutes brings you back to Tarkinegrove.

2: The Coastal Drive, again going southwest along the C218 this time turning right after crossing the Kanunnah Bridge onto the C214. This brings you to the tiny fishing community at Couta Rocks and your first view of the wild Southern Ocean. Continue to Arhtur River then join the A2 at Marrawah passing through rich dairy countryside to Smithton turning south on the C217 back to Tarkinegrove, there is a gravel road shortcut to bypass Smithton bringing you back to Edith Creek.
For something very different Take the Western Explorer to Corinna cross the Pieman River on the punt (a fee applies) and continue to Strahan via Zeehan.
